Deng Yin K

  • Hi Deng Yin! What are you studying?

    Psychology.

  • Why did you choose to study in Australia?

Australia has the infrastructure of a good education of London minus the depressing weather.

  • Why did you choose to study in Melbourne?

Since the food was good. Melbourne City it was.

  • Why did you choose to live at Iglu?

I heard good things about Iglu while getting socked by my boxing partner who was a previous resident at one of their properties.

  • What is your favourite thing about being a student?

The freedom to do whatever you want anytime you want.

  • What is your favourite thing to do when you are not studying?

Going on bike rides. Be it up mountains, down mountains, through water or even just going in a giant circle 100 times, bike riding is the number 1 activity I do when not straddled down by coursework.

  • So you’re a Resident Leader. What’s your favourite thing about being an RL?

I get a good excuse to talk to new people everyday and make new friends through the guise of being an approachable RL.

  • What is your favourite thing about Iglu?

Bike parking. With such a secure bike storage room with 24/7 security camera coverage, I can rest easy at night knowing my bike won’t be stolen and ride away never to be seen ever again.

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Riding my bike, cleaning my bike, planning bike rides and hopefully be in my 1st year of my masters.

  • What words of wisdom would you pass on to future Iglu residents?

What’s the worst that can come out of introducing yourself to someone new at breakfast?
